R5 million was allegedly spend by the Zululand District Municipality last week for a business breakfast. The KwaZulu-Natal COGTA MEC wants to know why the Zululand District Municipality spent R5 million just to have breakfast. Sipho Hlomuka said on an interview with ENCA that the provincial government has probed an investigation for the breakfast that was held.
Hlomuka said, “we have never seen a breakfast that might cost R5-million. These allegations (are) why we have taken the decision, as the provincial government through Cogta, to institute an investigation under Zululand district.”
