eNCAnews reported that, at the St Augustine’s Hospital in Durban, 66 people have tested positive for COVID-19 at the health facility. Mandla Shabangu, Denosa Spokesperson, said the hospital should be closed down and fumigated.
“Our view is that closing parts of the hospital is not going to solve the problem”
Mandla says the whole hospital should be closed down and ‘fumigate the whole thing’. It is believed that the hospital is contaminated with the COVID-19 virus, hence there’s such a high volume of cases at the health facility.
“For now we do not believe that there’s anyone who must be risked to come and work in this hospital”
“If the minister is serious about dealing with this issue, he needs to set an example about this hospital, close it down, so that their friends who are still continuing with this misbehavior, they must know that, when they misconduct, their hospital will be closed down until they comply in the protection of the works”
Mandla added that patients who died at St Augustine’s Hospital live in rural areas and townships and he believes there’s a possibility that, they may have spread the COVID-19 virus.
“Some have not been traced as we speak”
“This hospital must be closed down… and it must be fumigated for the workers to be safe”
