The NSC Matric Students are very eager to know how they did last year.  The release of the National Senior Certificate Results, i.e. government schools, will be released on the 8th of January 2020, on a Wednesday. There are no systematic irregularities reported according to Umalusi.

Public and private schools release results in different dates. NSC falls under public schools, whereas IEB falls under private schools in South Africa. Get ready for your awaited results on Wednesday,  8 January 2020.

IEB (Independent Examinations Board) gets a massive 98.82% pass rate which is still a decrease from 98.92% of the previous year. This was also confirmed by the IEB CEO Anne Oberholzer in a statement.

“Umalusi has monitored all aspects of the 2019 examination process and has declared the results to be fair and valid,” she added.

Out of the 98.82%, 89.51% qualified for entry to study for a degree, whereas 7.91% qualified for entry to study for a diploma and 1.4% qualified to study at the Higher Certificate level.

Students are strongly advised to get their statements of results from their schools/centers where they wrote their examinations. You can get partial results on the Government’s Education Website. If you have any queries regarding your results, they should be submitted 30 days after the release of the results.

Candidates are urged to ensure their names and ID Numbers are reflected correctly on their statements, should you find any incorrect information, report the matter the department before 30 June 2020.

Re-check and exam script re-mark

Any student who needs to apply for a remark or a recheck of the examination script, registrations can be done at school or a district office in the province. The information for the process is written on the other side of your Statement of Results.

The closing date for application (both online and manually) is on 22 January 2020. The fear for a re-mark is R112.00 and R27.00 for a re-check.  After such a process one can apply for an additional review of the script within 7 days after the release of the re-check or a remark.
