Ruth Balloon received a shock of her life when she was at work and decided to check her bank balance before clocking off from work. As soon as she fixed her eyes on the account – she couldn’t believe the amount of money deposited into her account.

What would you do with over R536m (Half a billion rand), when deposited into your account?  Ruth thought someone had gifted her with the money until she decided to look through the account and finds the money was sent in error by the bank.

Ruth Balloon accidentally received $37 million deposited into her account by the Legacy Texas bank

Ruth, who is from Dallas, gave the money back to her bank Legacy Texas Bank. She told KTVT that she thought she had a lot of money I was like,

Wow, we have a lot of money!

As a momentary millionaire – Ruth had all sorts of plans about how she was going to spend her money and give back to the community.

“First I was going to do 10% tithing, then I was going to donate some money and then I would have invested in real estate.” She told KTVT.

LegacyTexasBank said in a statement:

“On Tuesday, December 10, our client made a foreign currency deposit into her LegacyTexas account. Due to the fluctuation in exchange rates, all foreign currency transactions must be manually entered into our system through our back office.

According to KTVT, the bank continued to say in a statement:

“When our client’s deposit was being keyed in, our representative entered her account number into the amount field by mistake,”

iBusiness believes Ruth deserves a ‘Thank you’ reward for being a good customer and for notifying the bank, and so does she, as she told KTVT.
