The Globe woke to the saddest news of a tragic loss of the Black Panther’s protagonist, Chadwick Boseman – who succumbed to cancer. The actor died on Friday at his home in Los Angeles with his family. His life Taylor Simone was by his side and other family members.

The news was confirmed on his Instagram account stating ‘It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman’.

His family also confirmed on his Twitter account that the Black Panther’s star was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2016 and battled with it for four years as it gradually progressed to stage 4.

Chadwick was able to offer the globe the most amazing films during the period of his battle with cancer. It truly is a tragedy, a true loss.

“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. ” The family writes on twitter.
⁣
“It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.”

The star was surrounded by his wife and other beloved family members who have always been there for Chadwick.
⁣
“He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side.”
⁣
“The family thank you for your love and prayers and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time. ” concludes the family.
