Get a credit of up R150 000 with Capitec’s Global One Account. Manage your finances with a Capitec Credit Card. You will have access to all of your accounts. The Credit Card from Capitec gives more than you could ever ask you with a massive 4.75% interest per year earned on a positive balance and as if that’s enough, you will also get up to 55 days interest-free period.

With your credit card, you can do more, and all of your online purchases will be secured. You will be able to take advantage of the MasterCard Card Machine payments – where you will not be charged any fee.

Even when making purchases from overseas, you will not be charged for currency conversion. You’ll also be able to utilize the Capitec Banking App to manage your credit, with the App, you can update your daily card limits for both your card purchases and withdrawals, and you can make payments, view credit limits, transaction history, and manage your budget.

How to Apply for a Capitec Credit Card?

Apply is made easy – there are important documents that you will need to open an account at the Branch, such documents are:

  • Your ID document or Smartcard ID (You must be 18 years or older)
  • Latest payslip
  • A bank statement showing your latest 3 salary deposits
  • In case you are married and you haven’t changed your surname, you have to bring along a marriage certificate.

Take advantage of the Capitec online estimation application to see if you qualify for a credit card.

The Credit Account will be billed R35 per month, with the initial fee of R100. Based on your credit profile, the interest rate can get up to 20.5%, with a minimum of 10% interest rate.

In order to qualify for a credit card with Capitec, you need to have a minimum salary of R3000.

With straight purchase, you get interest-free when you pay your outstanding balance before it’s due, and up to 55 days to make interest-free purchases. You may pay 5% on your outstanding balance.  With Budget purchases, you will be able to manage your money and make a payment over a longer period of up to 48 months.

The Credit Card comes with Chargeback Protection – if you had issues with a merchant from which you made purchases with your credit card from, you will be protected when the company went into liquidation, if your products were faulty or not as portrayed, your products were not received, processing error by the bank, charged multiple times or have been charged a wrong amount and finally if you were a victim of fraud.
