In South Africa, the best-ranked bank is Capitec Bank for the second year. The country’s best bank is mostly utilized for its digital banking services nationwide. The bank has been the fastest growing bank in SA – now with over 7.4 million active users in its digital banking system.
A survey was conducted by Forbes which partnered with Statista firm to produce the World’s Best Banks List. Banks were rated in 24 countries on general satisfaction and key attributes like trust, fees, digital services, and financial advice.
The second best bank in South Africa is TymeBank according to the survey conducted by Forbes’ World’s Best Banks. FNB (First National Bank) came third while Nedbank secured a spot on the fourth possible.
Bidvest Bank came 5th. Capitec Bank welcomes almost 500 000 new digital banking customers which amounts to a 6.8% increase.
According to the EWN report, The CEO of Capitec Bank has said that they are ‘continually challenging the norms of traditional banking to bring our clients a simplified, affordable solution that puts them in control of their money.
‘A client-centric focus, along with the pursuit of relevant innovation has made it possible to transform what was originally a grudge purchase into a service that truly helps people better manage their financial lives.
‘We are honoured to receive this recognition and while it is a sign that we are headed in the right direction, we will not rest in our pursuit to simplify banking’.
