Police officers, alongside City Power Joburg and Eskom had a huge operation on Friday morning to removed illegal connections and cable theft that was estimated to be worth R360 000.
This operation resulted in the road closures on Beyers Naude between Peter Road and Johan Road by Zandspruit to remove these illegal connections.
According to Honeydew Community Police Forum, the operation was a huge success with alot of cable being removed as well as transformers recovered with 16 tons cables/ wires to the value of R360 000 and 19 Transformers valued at R501 048 bring the total value of the recovered items to R 861 048.
