The Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize briefed the media earlier on and confirmed the number of coronavirus cases.

There are 52 new #COVID19 cases that have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, the causative pathogen for COVID-19. To date, the total no. of cases stands at 202, with Gauteng accounting for more than 50% of the total confirmed #Covid19InSA cases. pic.twitter.com/Lx01JOIjaf

There are currently 202 infected people in South Africa. It has just been two weeks and currently, there are more local transmissions recorded. South Africa’s COVID-19 stats jumped from 150 to 202  over 24 hours.

52 more positive cases recorded, with Free State recording its first case.
