Economy: SA on Lockdown Level 1

South Africa has now moved to Level 1 and many economic restrictions have been eased. The announcement was made by the president of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa.

Some alcohol sales restrictions have been lifted. Curfew is now from midnight to 4am, at which alcohol will not be sold. This generally means you are not allowed to be galavanting the streets during curfew.

Night Clubs are still closed, Gatherings are permitted, provided that you follow the COVID 19 regulations which includes maintaing the 1.5 meter away from each other rule and not only that, you are still required to wear a mask and sanatize your hands regularly.

Indoors Gatherings are permitted, still maintaining the 50% venue capacity for and/or allows up to 100 people.

In regard to Oudoor Gatherings, 50% of the venue capacity must be adhered to, however it allows up to 250 people.

Night Vigils are not permitted, after tears are not permitted.

The 33 land borders will remain closed, 

For international traveling, the only airports permitted are the OR Tambo, King Shaka, Kruger Mpumalanga, Cape Town and Lanseria.

SA’s Ecomony has suffered during Lockdown Level 3, but many other economic restrictions have been lifted as we moved to Lockdown Alert Level 1.
