The JSE all share index took a slight knock on Friday closing the day on 66 215.47 with a -0.1% loss since its opening price of 66 263.49.
On Friday the South African equity markets saw Luxe Holdings Ltd taking the title for biggest loser of the day with a -16.53% moving from R1.21 to R1.01 , whilst Chrometco Ltd saw a 20% gain moving from R0.10 to R0.12, making it the biggest winner in the equity market.
South Africa moves to level 4 Lockdown following the increased number of infections seeing the Gauteng province hit the hardest. These newly imposed restrictions will mainly affect restaurants and the sale of alcohol for off-site and on site consumption is prohibited. Factories, Mines, Farms and other businesses will continue to operate.

The Rand continued to gain against the Greenbag on Friday closing at 14.15 from its opening of 14.20.
Gold moved from its opening of 1 778.32 to close at 1 775.13 USD/oz.
Platinum saw some gains on Friday moving to 1 100.00 USD/oz. from its open price of 1 091.12 USD/oz giving it a 0.8% gain.
Palladium saw a slight move from 2 643.5 and closing at 2 645 USD/oz on Friday.
Oil (Brent Crude) closed at 76.18 from its opening of 75.56 USD.
Global Markets
The US30 saw a significant surge on Friday which was backed by the Nike earnings report.
Asian Markets have not seen a significant movement as investors weigh Covid developments amid the new Delta strain which has been seen to be more transmittable.
