The JSE all share index saw a slight recovery on Wednesday closing the day on 65 820 with a
0.41% gain since its opening price of 65 552.

On Wednesday  the South African equity markets saw African Dawn Capital Ltd taking the title for biggest loser of the day with a -42.86% moving from R0.14 to R0.08, whilst  Visual International Holdings Ltd saw a 28.57% gain moving from R0.07 to R0.09, making it the biggest winner in the equity market.

The rand saw a slight gain against the Greenbag on Wednesday closing at 14.23 from its opening of 14.27.

Gold saw a slight loss from its opening of 1 778.74 to 1 778.68 USD/oz.

Platinum was trading at 1 088.62 USD/oz. from its open price of 1 078.50 USD/oz giving it a 0.9% gain on Wednesday.

Palladium saw a slight move from 2 581 and closing at 2 667 USD/oz.

Oil (Brent Crude) closed with at 75.19 from its opening of 74.81 USD.

Global Markets

Warren Buffet has resigned as a trustee from the Bill and Malinda Gates foundation, he proceeded to give away $4.1 bn worth of his Berkshire Hathaway shares to charity. In a statement, he wrote “Over many decades I have accumulated an almost incomprehensible sum simply by doing what I love to do. I’ve made no sacrifice nor has my family. Compound interest, a long runway, wonderful associates and our incredible country have simply worked their magic. Society has a use for my money; I don’t”. 

The Greenbag took a deep and recovered (US Dollar Index close of yesterday at 91.80).

NASDAQ continued to hit record highs closing at 14 271.73 from its open of 14 253.27.

Things to watch today:
Bank of England (BOE) interest rate decision, US Core Durable Goods Orders, USD GDP Price Index, US Initial Jobless Claims.
