The JSE all share index slightly gained yesterday closing Wednesday on 66 806.36 with a 1.5% gain from its opening price of 65 849.75
On Wednesday the South African equity markets saw MiX Telematics Ltd. being the biggest loser of the day with a -9.69% loss moving from R9.30 to close the day at R8.40, whilst African Rainbow Capital Investments Ltd. saw a 7.97% gain moving from R3.89 to R4.20, making it the biggest winner in the equity market.
Former South African President Mr Jacob Gedleyihlekisa Zuma’s has surrendered himself and begun serving his 15 months sentence.
The Rand saw a slight against the US Dollar on Wednesday closing at R14.31 from its opening of R14.38.
Gold moved from its opening of 1 797.08 to close at 1 803.63 USD/oz. giving it a 0.4% gain on Wednesday.
Platinum took some losses yesterday moving to 1 088.83 USD/oz. from its open price of 1 094.59 USD/oz resulting in a -0.5% loss.
Palladium closed Wednesday’s business day on 2 837.75 from its opening price of 2 802.50 USD/oz.
Oil price continued to lose with Brent Crude closing at 73.43 from its opening of 74.53 USD.
Global Markets
The greenbag continued with its gains against major currencies with the dollar index up to 92.82 yesterday.
NASDAQ and S&P 500 hit an all-time high yet again.
