Eskom continues to throw darkness into our lives – as the question that one may ask is: when did they take over our lives? Showering us with more stages at least tonight, Eskom is has reduced the load shedding to stage 3 until 23:00.
On 13 March 2020, Eskom released a statement that load-shedding has been reduced to stage 3 until 11 pm, and it will resume with stage 2 at 07:00 tomorrow morning.
The company indicated that there’s a drop in demand as we stumble in the dark into the weekend – Stage 3 is a reduction from Stage 4 load-shedding since 14:00. Brace yourself for tomorrow’s load-shedding from 7 am in the morning, hope you make your breakfast earlier, and make sure the kids are spotless on time.
“Koeberg unit 1 will be synchronized onto the grid tomorrow morning, a day earlier than initially expected. This will help increase generation capacity and ease the scale of load-shedding”
“Unplanned breakdowns or outages were at 11 995 MW as at 16:40 this afternoon and planned maintenance outages are at 4 708 MW” added Eskom in a statement.
Eskom also indicated that the ageing feet is currently constrained, and is unpredictable as well as vulnerable. In a statement, Eskom stresses that the stages may change at short notice.
“We advise South Africans that the stage of load-shedding may change at short notice should there be any unexpected change in the generation system performance”
The company believes these dark days will cease and they’ll eventually reach the end of the tunnel and we’ll finally see some light, working together with their partners.
“It is only through a partnership between Eskom and all stakeholders that we may soon emerge from these difficult times”
