Making money is hard and keeping it is even harder. Most individuals don’t respect the mere valuable paper they have, or the digits displayed in their banking statement. I’ve come to realize that people don’t note down the things they wanna do with their money as part of the budgeting strategy. I’d rather have you spend all your money wisely than spending every dime on things you don’t necessarily need.
Things we usually don’t need, are the things that usually makes us happy, like overspending on liquor, purchasing a bottle that’s half your salary, even when it’s just 1/7th of your salary is just as bad.
We tend to enjoy entertainment way too early, thinking we have it all figured it out, but guess what, we are far from figuring it out.
The majority of the people want to be wealthy, and wealth comes at a cost, comes with sleepless nights, not able to enjoy the finer things in life even when you can easily do with your finances. When you are fighting for growth, it will never be easy, and no wealth comes without major risks.
When you want to be wealthy, when you reach a comfortable zone, you should be very concern, because then you won’t be fighting hard enough.
An typical example: You make R15,000 a month, then you fight your way up to R25,000 a month, and then you relax and sit comfortably making that much, the idea is to do whatever you’ve been doing twice as hard to get to R50,000, then multiply whatever you’ve been doing to get to R100,000 – and keep at it just like that, and it won’t get any easier, and at this point you’d need people to help you, create employment and keep going.
Spending is easy, saving comes at a cost, investing is risky and worth it. Don’t find yourself stranded when you know that you could’ve avoided it. Consistency is key, don’t sway yourself off the road when things are going well.
When you get a taste of wealth, fight against all odds and invest in your hustle. It’s not an easy journey, there will be ups and downs, however it is all part of it.
There’s no such thing as “not knowing how to draft a budget”, all I hear is a lot of excuses. If you can’t take time to note down how to spend your money, do you even deserve it?
“You don’t need money to be happy”, as much as that can be true, you sure look happy after a few savannas of which you’ve just spent your money on, and still go to a loan shack so you can deal with your hangover the next morning.
Think, note it down, count, save and spend – that’s my motto.
