
I now believe when Capitec talks about simplified banking, because, their App is one of the easiest and light mobile application in all of the banking apps I know. You can argue with that – it takes you straight to the transactions menu, and do your banking and done.
There is no need to visit a branch for a statement, or balance inquiry or if you want to make amendments to your account such as daily limits, card limits – even when you want to stop a card if it has been stolen.
The secured Capitec Banking Mobile App opens a whole new world of banking for you, and it is available and supported by all smartphones.
You can download the App on your phone by simply search it on the App’s store, download and install the app – it’s free as there are no monthly fees. Not only is it free to download, oh my, it’s also free to use, on SA Networks (MTN, Vodacom, Telkom Mobile, and Cell C), you won’t be charged a single cent or Data. That’s right; you don’t have to top up your data to access the app. You don’t need data to purchase data; you don’t need airtime to purchase airtime, using the app. Go ahead, and try it.

- Once you access the transact option on your Capitec App using your Cellphone, you will be able to make payments to anyone (Any Bank in South Africa)
- You can make prepaid purchases such as Airtime (You can choose your own amount, currently starting from R12), Data, and SMSs, either for yourself or a friend.
- You can purchase electricity for your home, or friend’s home – and if you have lost the electricity token, you can simply view that last token – (However, after every purchase the token is normally sent to your number as confirmation)
- You can add beneficiaries (Can be clothing accounts, Capitec-registered accounts, or just your own accounts, or anyone using any bank in South Africa) – This gives room to modify, delete, view or sort your beneficiaries.
- You can make future-dated payments or recurring, this can be seen as Stop Orders.
- You can view all your transaction payments
- You can do credit facility transfers
- You can Stop and or dispute debit orders (However it’s only fair to say, if a debit order was of a bigger amount, you should visit the branch, and having said that, some debit orders cannot be disputed)
- You can email yourself a stamped statement using the App
- You can make payments using a Capitec bank client’s cellphone number
- Pay your DSTV account and Send Cash to family and friends.

- You can set stop orders (Recurring and or future-dated payments)
- Now, you can fix your savings accounts, you also can create flexible savings accounts (Create as many accounts as you can and still earn interest) – you can also rename these flexible accounts and furthermore, you can turn any flexible account into a fixed account.

How to register for the Capitec App
- Visit your nearest branch, bring along with you, your cellphone and your Global One Card
- The Consultant will initiate the registration, in the process, you will receive an SMS to download the app, or you have the App already downloaded from the App store. (It’s still okay)
- Once downloaded, install the app and enter the remote pin that you just created with the Capitec consultant – and start transacting (Never reveal your pin to anyone, NOT EVEN TO THE CAPITEC CONSULTANT OR ANYONE WORKING AT A BANK – IT’S YOURS ALONE)
