Motorists Should Brace For Another Fuel Price Hike In April.

Motorists should brace themselves for another fuel price hike in April.

Petrol is expected to cost about R2 a litre more while diesel price could rise by R3 a litre.

The ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia which has lead to some countries to impose sanctions on Russia has caused oil prices to increase.

Government is now under pressure to try and mitigate this. Our saving grace can come from the Rand continuing to strengthen against the Dollar. Oil is purchased in Dollars so when the Rand takes a knock against the Dollar, the cost to acquire oil increases on top of the rising oil prices.

The South African Petroleum Industry Association says it is a tough challenge to try mitigate and manage the oil price increase.
