SASSA July Payments: SRD, child, elderly and disability grants

The elderly and disability grants commenced on the 3rd of July this included the child grants linked to these grants. SASSA added that all other grants will be paid from 6 July, on Monday. It is imperative to know that this does not include the Social Grant Relief for the unemployed.

SASSA has repeatedly said ‘There is no fixed payment date for the special COVID-19 SRD grant. Every month your application will be checked to verify if you still qualify for the grant. You will be paid each month, provided you still qualify for that month.’

There are people who applied in May and still haven’t been paid to which SASSA responded with ‘ If they applied in May, the first payment they received was for May. The turnaround time for payment to reflect once banking details have been successfully verified is about 7 working days. However, due to high application volumes, it might take slightly longer.

‘What may be causing delays for some applicants is the account failing bank verification. In such cases, the client is sent to SAPO for cash payment. However please don’t go to the Post Office until you have received an SMS from SASSA confirming payment’ SASSA added.

SASSA has also stipulated in regard to old age and child grants that the dates have changed permanently as announced in April. Disability grants and Older Persons Grants are paid from the 3rd day of the month. All other grants will be paid from the 5th of every month. However, where these dates fall on a weekend or public holiday, the dates will move forward to the first working day after these dates.

Hi was approved in july
Applied in may
Till today haven’t heard anything
All I read is that government plans to pay new grants out
My advise first pay existing grants and stop making promises u cannot keep
Hire people who know what they doing
People hired only know how to steal
