Sassa urges applicants of the special COVID-19 SRD grant to ensure that the cellphone number they use has been through the RICA process if they choose to be paid through cardless banking at an ATM.
If the client choose to be paid through their bank accounts, they must ensure that the bank account provided is registered in their own name and not someone else’s name. This will assist the client to withdraw their grant with ease from merchants as till PINS are sent to cell phone numbers provided when applying.
“Clients who receive their special COVID-19 SRD grant through their SASSA gold cards are advised to access their grants at participating merchants or bank ATMs. They may also use their cards to pay for purchases and not necessarily only to withdraw cash. This is done to avoid crowding at Post Offices.” – SASSA news
