The ZCC (Zion Christian Church) heard the President’s call for prohibiting gatherings of over 100 people due to the coronavirus pandemic. The ZCC pilgrimage attracts millions of people over the easter weeked, and as a result, in an effort to contain the virus spread, all ZCC Moria events have been cancelled.
The annual pilgrimage is officially cancelled as it was set to take place over the Easter weekend in South Africa. It is apparent that the decision was made in meeting with the Health Minister Zweli Mkhize last week.
“This is a pandemic which at the end of the day touches the lives of the people. The ZCC has postponed this year’s annual pilgrimage in Moria due to the coronavirus,” said the ZCC spokesperson, Reverend Emmanuel Motolla.
“We are definitely going to comply,” said the ZCC spokesperson.
“Will make sure that the church that the church leadership in each and every district or branch conforms to the right number where people should be together.”
Currently, there are 85 confirmed cases in South Africa
