South Africa

The JSE all share index closing the day at 67 428 from its opening price of 67 065.

On Tuesday the South African equity markets saw Aveng Ltd. (AEG) being the biggest loser of the day with a -16.67% loss moving from R0.06 to close the day at R0.05, whilst Brimstone Investment Corporation Ltd. (BRT) saw a 22.33% gain moving from R5.51 to R6.74, making it the biggest winner in the equity market.

The Rand continued to recover against the US Dollar closing at R14.52 from its opening price of R14.67

Commodities

Commodities showed a positive sign of recovery on Tuesday with most of our listed commodities closing with gains.

Gold moved from 1 810.34 USD/oz to 1 813.62 USD/oz.

Copper recovered yesterday closing at 9 528.25 USD/t. from its opening price of 9 423.75 USD/t.

Platinum slightly gain on Tuesday closing the day at 1015.83 USD/oz from its opening price of 1012.53 USD/oz.

Oil prices slipped with Brent Crude moving from 73.41 to closing at 72.99 USD.

Global Markets

USDollar Index has strengthened, as a result EUR and Sterling are trading lower against the dollar. GER30 and UK100 futures are currently up 0.5%, alongside gains in U.S. futures.

Bonds in Australia and New Zealand underperformed and sold off sharply due to the uncertain economic outlook resulting from rising number if infections from the virus. Australia Q2 GDP result were better than expected.

USOil is trading at $68.92 as traders assess the prospect for an easing of output restrictions ahead of the OPEC+ meeting today.
